Contemporary social life is experiencing many changes, the most important of which is progress and technological development which influences the structure of society and makes the individual live in social isolation.

our research aims to explain the relationship between isolation and social networks and media.

to determine the impact and effect of the media on the feeling of loneliness and social isolation in the Algerian individual.

using the descriptive approach on a sample of Facebook users.

we find that the individual or the Facebook user has affected social relations in general and the family in particular.

this relationship between the individual and the media is purely a correlation.

the more the use of sites and social networks, the greater the feeling of social isolation in the individual.
