There is no doubt that rhythm is what makes the receiver under the influence of the poem, which is why the research aims to analyze the different elements and characteristics that contribute to the creation of rhythm; whose last consonant of the verse, tašria, gendrisation, redundancy, and grammatical, morphological and phonetic structures; which constitute a fundamental pillar that has made the lamentations of cities a poetic genre associated with the sense of grief and death; Because the historical event is linked to the decline of man and space in the face of a dark fate.

We chose the corpus of the poet Ibn Al-Abar Al-Balansi; Composed of six poems, because of his deep experience in this poetic genre entitled «Lamentation of the cities».

In addition, this poet was charged with several political missions in favour of Andalusia to save it from the fall, and the enemies who stalked it.

So what is the link between rhythm including all its elements, meanings and significations within the poems? And how did the rhythm contribute to enhance the narration/poetics of the poem? And how do the different rhythms reveal the depths of the soul؟ .

The research produced a number of conclusions, written in its conclusion.

It was found that the rhythm is closely related to the type of lamentations; it is an inclusive genre focused on repetition and redundancy; It deepens the tragedy that requires moans and complaints.
