Abstract EN

Through this biographical study, we aim to shed light on the path of cheikh Said Zahiri, especially the period of his stay in Oran, in order to explore his various movements and activities, as well as present the fluctuations of his positions, opinions and disagreements with an attempt to explain and justify them.

In this article, we also review the presence of Zahiri in the Oranian political arena in the thirties and forties of the twentieth century, starting with his Badisian reform association and school, to his activity in the French leftist political movement represented by the Popular Front and his plea for the Bloom Violet project and then his alignment with the Sufi orders.

We also present in this presentation Zahri's movements during and after World War II, starting with the support of the Vichy government and the Axis countries, and the courtship of the French right-wing circles to support the allies and the national anti-colonial movement, and this is in a chronological sequence and an analysis of the most important stations of Zahri's path in Oran.
