as the families of the disappeared persons suffer from the consequences of disappearances at all levels: legally and socially.

for this reason, the international instruments on enforced disappearance have established a set of guarantees for victims of disappearance whose situation has not been clarified, as well as for their relatives, including the normalization of their legal status during the period of disappearance.
