Abstract EN

The study examined the diversity of demographic characteristics and the effect of that diversity on the economic inequalities of the population in Jordan, based on recent statistical data confined between 2017 and 2018 that refer to representative statistical surveys of the population in Jordan focus on their various characteristics.

the research relied on the outputs of the Jordanian department of statistics to present the aspects of inequality in the annual income of individuals and families in addition to provide statistical facts about the reality of the Jordanian labor market and the imbalances in the economic participation rate for the various population groups.

the research also presented some indicators that reflect the levels of living as a gini factor and the indicator of family welfare in addition to individual’s ownership of the assets.

the research relied on a descriptive analysis method of the data, and the results showed that there are imbalances between the population, especially between the various governorates, in addition to the presence of a large gender gap in many of the indicators addressed by the research, especially in the Jordanian labor market and ownership of assets, and the research also concluded that there are differences in living standards between Jordanians and non‐ Jordanians.

the research presented a set of recommendations, the most important of which were; the need to direct planning towards the development of governorates with less income, in addition to the need to provide a number of awareness programs in the field of guiding women to enter the Jordanian labor market, especially in some economic activities that women are inactivate to participate in those economic activities.
