Abstract EN

The study aimed to identify the effectiveness of a training program in developing the semantic level of language and its effect on the functional language of Hard of Hearing students.

The sample of the study consisted of (18) students, whose ages ranged from (7-9) years, where the sample was divided into two equal experimental and control groups, in each group of which (9) students, the sample was chosen from Hard of Hearing program at Ibn Shaiba School in Jeddah.

The researcher used the quasi-experimental approach in applying the study, and carried out (26) sessions within the proposed training program for the members of the experimental group.

The study used the meanings and vocabulary scale, the functional language scale for Hard of Hearing students, and a well-constructed training program to measure its effectiveness in developing the semantic level of language, and its impact on the functional language of Hard of Hearing students, all of which were prepared by the researcher.

The study resulted in the existence of statistically significant differences at the semantic level (meanings) between the members of the experimental and control groups, in favor of the experimental group attributable to the training program, as well as the existence of statistically significant differences in the functional language between the members of the experimental and control groups, in favor of the experimental group due to training program.
