Abstract EN

The aim of this research is to investigate the extent of the use of information technology at Taiz University libraries.

The research comprises into two parts: theoretical and practical.

It adopted the descriptive survey approach as well as some tools, most notably the lists of references.

The major findings of this investigation have shown that the Central Reference Library of Taiz University comes at the top of the list of Taiz University libraries in terms of the availability of computers, as the number of computers reaches (20) devices, at a rate of 35.1%.

It has also been found that no libraries of Taiz University use integrated automated systems, with the exception of the Graduate Studies Center Library that uses the Koha System, and that all libraries neither have electronic websites nor provide indexes on the internet.

The research generally offers clear evidence that all the libraries of the university have neither bibliographic nor full-text databases on the Internet.
