Abstract EN
Forest fires considered as a serious environmental disaster in the Mediterranean regions, because of their negative impact on environment and economy of the affected areas, this is the case of the forest fires in Syria.
where fires are the first enemy of the Syrian forests, and a source of threat to their lands, as many fires occur annually that cause total or partial damages to large areas of these forests, leading to soil erosion as well as reducing ground water table.
in general, the occurrence of fire is related to human activities, environmental and weather conditions, and the flammability that distinguish each plant from another.
this article deals with types of forest fires, their causes and damages, solutions after fire, in addition to some suggested ways to combat forest fires according to the conditions and capabilities of the country under the current circumstances.
