Abstract EN

This article aims to study Alhabti’s individualities in Waqf and Ibtida from Surat Al Imran.

the research problem lies in that Alhabti was thought to be strict in Waqf, or separation between the two connected sounds.

however, after referring to books of Waqf and Ibtida, interpretation, readings syntax and rhetoric, it was clear that he was not weak at syntax or ignorant of these aspects, but rather a very hardworking scholar, though every scholar has some faults that could be constructively discussed.

the study also aims to study and present Alhabti’s views in accordance with other scholars’ perspectives and opinions and get to know Alhabti’s aims in his individualities judging whether Waqf is possible or not.

the study employs the inductive approach in collecting the individualities, and the descriptive and analytical approach in studying them, presenting and discussing them constructively, as well as the deductive approach in identifying the (im)possibility of Waqf.

the most important findings are : Alhabti’s views agree with previous scholars, taking often the meaning into account, his individualities are sufficient, having example of good Waqfs.

he takes into account Imam Nafi’ Almadani’ Qur’anic reading and finally though there is nological justification in some places, he seems to have good reasons to postulate Waqf or Wasl
