Abstract EN

This article aims to get to know the phenomenon of domestic violence against women in Qatar in the light of the purposes of Sharia and Qatari Law from the point of view of a group of Qatari society.

To achieve this goal, the study relies on the regular random sample, consisting of (172) respondents.

The study employs the descriptive analytical approach.

In the analysis of the data, appropriate statistical methods were used within the SPSS program.

The study concludes that there is a statistical difference at 5   0.05 among the study’s sample in favor of the importance of the Islamic orientation of the Qatari society to reduce domestic violence against women and the mechanisms of dealing with the phenomenon of domestic violence against women in the Qatari Law.

These were due to the gender variable and social situation, except for scholastic qualification variable and job.

Thus, the study recommends strengthening the role of civil society in the field of treating battered women by creating a new scientificand practical approach based on Islamic foundations that protect the integrity and dignity of Qatari women.
