This research aims to find out a number 0f elements that direct Libyan consumers about a certain product from many competing products.

Also to identify a set of affecting factors on purchasing.

These are demographic eharacteristies and social factors pertaining to consumer and the mental image that consumers holds about the product and the marketing mix decision, This may provide a theoretical explanation to the manufacturers on the necessity to take the dictates of these elements in order to enable our 0rganizations to res pond to the requirements of the domestics and foreign markets.

Also to identify the reasons for the Libyan consumers preference for the imported foodstuff on local counterparts.

Therefore, data is gathered about consumers who live in the AL- Zawia city.

The Study rested on a set of indicators and statistical tests and based on that a set of recommendations is presented with the conclusions.
