Abstract EN

This paper, given the significance of time in artistic creation, is focused on the time structure as designed by Kerime Nadir in her novel, “Funda”.

it explores the employment of succession and sequencing techniques as well as the transition between different timeframes and multiple techniques to rearrange events in the right chronological order.

also, it deals with the impact of time on characters, settings, events and the self.

this is manifested in the dialectical struggle within the self ; which may sometimes resist or surrender, as can be inferred from the timeline of the main characters in the novel.

hence, the interaction between time and other elements in general and the self in particular is rather highlighted.

however, another distinguishing feature of time is that it is in and of itself past and continuous, with far-reaching influence that may extend to the setting as well.
