Abstract EN

This research focuses mainly on the study of linguistic agents literary Arabic uses, thus affecting the tense form of verb to generate a particular tense form, change a tense form of verb into another tense form, or make it indicate two different tense forms.

These Arabic agents are used here to establish a comparison with tense effect agents other Semitic languages (written and spoken) use to generate verb tense forms.

The study calls for an adopted comparative method to achieve its objective.

It arrives at important findings which prove that Arabic and other Semitic languages are rich with such agents and can create more linguistic agents to do such a function.

Some of these agents are common among some, if not among all Semitic languages though some of these languages take an exclusive possession of linguistic agents unknown to the others.
