Abstract EN

This research aims to highlight the role of Mogila and Nafza Kharijite tribes in Maghreb in securing the arrival of Abdulrahman bin Mu’awiyah bin Hisham bin Abdulmalik to Andalusia and to present the justifications that led the Kharijites in Maghreb to change their position towards the Umayyads despite the historical animosity between the two parties.

This was evident in their protection of the descendant of the Umayyad king Abdulrahman bin Mu’awiyah bin Hisham bin Abdulmalik after he was forced to flee to Maghreb in 133AH/750AD, fearing the pursuit of the Abbasids.

They also facilitated his movements among the Berber tribes in Middle and Far East of Maghreb for many years and then he crossed to Analusia establishing a new state for the Umayyads after six years of the fall of their State in the East.

This research has relied on main books, old sources, some periodicals and recent studies, adopting the descriptive historical approach and the comparative approach in exploring the scientific material and in investigating its texts.
