Abstract EN

This study aimed at investigating the effectiveness of a counseling program based on the theory House of sound relationships in improving family stability and reducing emotional divorce among a sample of women who are regular attendants for the family counseling centers in Amman the capital city of Jordan.

To achieve the study objectives, the researcher developed two scales: The scale of family stability and the scale of emotional divorce; for which psychometric properties were verified.

The researcher also developed a counseling program that consisted of (20) counseling sessions.

In order to verify the effectiveness of the program, a sample of (23) women who are regular attendants of a family counseling center in Amman, the capital city of Jordan, was chosen; the sample was divided into two groups, the experimental group (12) women, and the control group (11) women.

The counseling program was applied to the individuals of the experimental group for two months.

The results verified the effectiveness of the counseling program in improving family stability and reducing emotional divorce among the study sample individuals in comparison with the control group and revealed that the impact of the program was maintained after one month during the post follow-up.

Based on the results, the researcher recommended the necessity of using the counseling program based on the theory House of sound relationships in the family counseling centers.
