The Algerian revolution faced a big obstacle during the early months of its launch, represented in severe shortage in armament.

The amount of weapons stored since the Second World War was not enough to confront the French armed machine.

The leaders of national liberation front had to supply a mounts of weapons during the early days but the historic testimonies assert that the early months which followed the start of revolution did not witness the arrival of the needed weapons.

The Atos Ship which was discovered by the imperial authorities and arrested its crew was a model for the Arabian support with weapons regarding the media campaign which followed that.
