Les contributions du professeur Belkacem Ben Smaïl a la clarification du suicide en milieu Maghrébin

This article aims to introduce professor Belkacem Ben Ismail and highlight his role as a psychiatrist, scientist, thinker and reformer in the Algerian movement for educational and social reform, as well as to collect and organize a body of important information on the suicide excerpts from his works, we relied on the theoretical method, where we reviewed the theoretical scientific heritage and previous studies on this researcher and his writings on suicide, through this research article, we concluded that the works of Ibn Ismail are authentic, because he raised many sensitive points, such as the question of the nosographic and semantic fields of the terms and the defects they raise, as well as the socio-cultural framework of the region.

his study on suicide can be a reference and even a starting point for many studies on suicide, especially in this region of the Maghreb.
