يعرف النص الحجاجي بأنه النص الذي تهيمن عليه الوظيفة الإقناعية والتأثيرية، فهو يستند إلى بنية حجاجيه تسعى إلى إكساب النص إقناعا وتأثيرا، بوصفها النسق والشكل فهي نظام متسق متكون من أجزاء تتكون من مقدمة حجاجيه؛ لتنبيه المتلقي بالمادة المعطاة، وعرض حجاجي يكشف الدلالات المضمرة داخل النص، وصولا إلى النتيجة الحجاجية؛ للتأثير في المتلقي وإقناعه بما يطرح عليه.
