This paper aims to shed light upon creativity in the literary translation as a field, where it is more applied compared to others.

creativity is part and parcel of the different literary works and the translator can, on his side, use it to a certain degree with regard to the receiver.

therefore, some translations are creative to the point that their readers feel that they are written in their language and thought according to their culture.

while, others contain little amount of creativity considering some limits which should not be exceeded in order to serve the text, the author and the reader as well.

to reach that in the literary translation in particular is not an easy task, but it remains feasible.

creativity remains essential and bound by the content of the source text and the reader of the translation in particular.
