Abstract EN

The current research aims to identify the unrealistic optimism among university students, as well as to identify the significance of the difference in unrealistic optimism according to the gender variable (male-female).

the researcher applied the scale electronically to a sample of (150) male and female students who were randomly selected from Baghdad university students for the academic year 2020-2021, and the results showed the following: 1-the research sample of university students have unrealistic optimism.

2-there are no statistically significant differences between (males-females) in the unrealistic optimism of university students.

the researcher developed a set of recommendations and suggestions in the light of the research results.
