Abstract EN
A contingency approach using the analytic hierarchy process method for supplier’ selection is proposed to improve an Algerian supply chain’s performance belongs to wires/cables industries.
Although prior studies suggested several approaches for supplier’s selection, to our best knowledge, only few frameworks have incorporated the company’s strategy in the supplier’ performance evaluation using the analytic hierarchy process within a contingency logic.
This paper intends to fill this gap by employing the most common set of key performance indicators derived from the literature with regards to expert’ opinion in wires/cables industries.
Besides, the proposed framework solved a problem of multi criteria decision attribute.
Also, it addresses a problem of using an outdated method in supplier’ selection.
Furthermore, the proposed framework suggested that behavioural factor should be considered solely without incorporating the price/cost metric to cancel its potential negative effect on the strategy alignment as a contingency logic
