Impact of economic welfare on economic growth : the case study of Algeria

The current investigation seeks to determine the impact of economic welfare indicators on economic growth rates in Algeria through a econometrics study in which we relied on the methodology of co-integration and took as independent variables both the rate of family spending, the rate of spending on health, and the rate of unemployment as indicators of economic well-being.

as for the dependent variable, we took the gross domestic product (GDP) per capita as a reflection of economic growth.

the study was conducted during the period 1990-2019, and we found a positive impact for both family spending and the proportion of expenditure in the health sector on economic growth, as well as a negative impact of unemployment rates on economic growth.
