Abstract EN

The research aims to understand the hindrances to faculty members’ effective preparation and educational training and evaluate the efficacy of a proposed training package.To achieve the research objectives, the researcher used the descriptive-analytical method and prepared two tools: a questionnaire and an opinion poll.

A questionnaire was developed to garner an understanding of the benefits and drawbacks of the existing training program in the higher education institutions in Saudi Arabia.

Fifty-three faculty members were randomly chosen to respond to the instrument.

The opinion poll was used to capture the views of other faculty members on the newly proposed training program intended to aid the preparation and training of the university professor.

Twenty-eight faculty members were asked to participate in the opinion poll.

A sample of 40 staff members from several faculties was used to assess the two programs: “The development of scientific research system” and “The development of skills for assessing College students.” The research yielded many crucial insights.

Some of those insights are outlined here.

It identified 18 general objectives of educational training in the information age.

It outlined seven important areas that needed to be addressed in training university professors and pointed out several effective training methods.

Nine axes of the program received (100%) the highest average relative rate, and five (89%) received the lowest average relative rate.

The study also proposed several recommendations, including the need to coordinate efforts to broaden the university teachers’ exposure to educational training and expand development centers across universities.
