Abstract EN

This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of a remote training program in improving a range of developmental and educational skills of children in the early intervention program.

The study sample consisted of (14) children with disabilities and developmental delay.

To achieve this goal, the quasi-experimental approach with one experimental group was used, through the implementation of a remote training program for families based on the Assessment, Evaluation and Programming System (AEPS) curriculum.

The training program was implemented virtually for three months during the first term of the academic year 2020/2021 and the children's development levels were measured before and after the implementation.

To find out the differences between the pre and post measurements, Wilcoxon test was conducted with Z value.

The results showed statistically significant differences between the mean ranks of the experimental group in favor of the post-measurements on the fine motor, gross motor, adaptive, cognitive and communication domains.

Meanwhile, there was no statistically significant difference between the pre and post mean ranks of the experimental group on the social skills domain.

Based on these results, the study suggested several recommendations that are expected to develop the remote early intervention experience for children with disabilities and developmental delay.
