The aim of this study is to identify the role of high-school leaders in promoting organi?ational citi?enship behavior of teachers in the first directorate of education in Irbid, Jordan and to see whether there are statistically significant differences between the teachers? responses according to the variables of gender, scientific ?ualification and e?perience.

The information was based on a ?uestionnaire consisting of five areas: citi?enship behavior, self-control, organi?ational fle?ibility, kindness and courtesy and altruism.

The sample members were 744 teachers, representing 17? of the total population.

The research found the following results: The leadership role of secondary-school leaders in the first directorate of education in Irbid in promoting organi?ational citi?enship behavior of teachers came with a high degree.

The field of citi?enship behavior came in the first order, then the self-control field in the second order, then the field of organi?ational fle?ibility in the third order, then the field of kindness and courtesy in the fourth order, then the field of altruism in the fifth and last rank.

There were no statistically significant differences between the teachers? responses on the leadership role of secondaryschool leaders in promoting the citi?enship behavior of the teachers in the first directorate of education in Irbid according to gender, scientific ?ualification and e?perience in all fields e?cept for the field of self-control according to the gender variable, where there were statistically significant differences for the benefit of males.

Based on the results of the research, it was recommended that leaders continue to promote the behavior of teachers? citi?enship and to instruct female leaders to develop the principle of self-control among female teachers.
