Abstract EN

The present paper aims to provide discussions on how the quranic text achieves appropriateness through different linguistic techniques such as lexical cohesion, proper selection of lexical items, thematic connectivity, antithesis and semantically-based appropriateness.

more precisely, i use these techniques as measures that can help us determine whether or not appropriateness is attained in discourse.

also, this paper examines how appropriateness is hinged upon the textual fact of continuity of thought through investigating sequentiality and connectivity of senses in the text.
