The Arab intellectual heritage was a fertile field for creativity and innovation.

Intellectual theses and linguistic theories which were presented enlightened the modern linguistic lesson in structuring itself.

Since the Arab mind is a rhetorical and demonstrative mind, the persuasive argumentative practice had its prominent presence.

Nevertheless, it manifested in many rhetorical forms, on top of which is the debate.

The current investigation aims to trace briefly the beginning of its appearance, the factors of its manifestation, and the stages of its employment from the pre-Islamic period to the first half of the fifth century of migration in Andalusia.
