خلال المدة ما بين شهري تشرين الثاني وكانون الأول لعام ٢٠١٠، تـم اصطياد وفحـص ٣١ ً ً طيرا مائيا (١٨ ذكـور و١٣ إناث) مـن دجـاج المـاء مـن اهـوار البـصرة.
عنـد تـشريح هـذا الطيور تبين إصـابتها بنوعين مـن المثقوبات ثنائية المنـشأ (Echinostoma chloropodis وcrecci Echinostoma (، ونـوع واحد مـن الديدان الخيطيـة (acutum Amidostomum (وجـنس واحـد يعـود للديدان الخيطية.

النـسبة المئوية للإصابة بالديدان المثقوبـة ثنائية المنـشأ (80.6%) كانـت أعلـى مـن الديدان ٕ chloropus Gallinula الخيطية (35.4%).
الإصابة بهذه الديدان الطفيلية شملت كلا الجنسين ذكور واناث من طيور دجـاج الماء
Abstract EN
During the period of November and December 2010 a total of 31(18 males and 13 females) aquatic birds Moorhen Gallinula chloropus hunted from Basrah marshes were examined.
Upon dissecting these birds, they were found to be infected with two species of digenetic trematodes (Echinostoma chloropodis and Echinostoma crecci), one species of nematodes (Amidostomum acutum)and genus nematode Tetrameres sp.
The prevalence of infection with digenetic trematodes (80.6%) was more than nematodes (35.4%).
The infection with these parasitic worms include both sexes males and females of aquatic birds Gallinula chloropus
