Abstract EN

The current research aims to identify the effect of teaching history with a visual approach on the achievement of second grade students, and to investigate the following research hypothesis : there is no statistically significant difference at the level (0.05) between the average scores of the experimental group students who study the subject history in the visual approach and the average scores of the control group students who study the same subject in the traditional way in the achievement test scores.

the college of basic education-department of history was chosen intentionally, and in a simple random way, and by random appointment, hall (2) was chosen to represent the experimental group that will study the European history with the visual approach and numbered (30) students, and hall (1) was chosen to represent the control group that will study a subject by the method the number of ordinary students reached (30) and included the topics of the first three chapters of the approved history book according to the vocabulary, the subject to be taught for the academic year 2021 / 2022.

at the end of the experiment, the result was statistically processed using the t-test for two independent samples.

the search result showed the students of the experimental group who study European history with a visual approach outperformed the students of the control group who study the same subject in the traditional way in the achievement test that was applied after the end of the experiment in light of the research results, the researchers recommended the following : 1-emphasis on the use of modern teaching methods, especially thinking skills in teaching history.

2-the necessity of introducing modern history professors into training courses to introduce them to modern teaching methods, including the visual entrance.
