The Arabic novel has dealt with the issue of "civilizational conflict" since its beginnings, but its concept has evolved with time, and with it its method in dealing with the current civilizational conflict, which is colored by the bets of globalization and the information flow that led to a change in the human relationship with time, and the history of what constitutes the present is the best example.

As for the novel in general and the Algerian novel, it has been interested in writing the present since its beginnings, and the matter has been consolidated in the last two decades, as novelists have engaged in artistic treatments more aware of the challenges of the globalized era, for example, the novel “Al Qahira Assaghira” by Amara Lakhous.

This article aims to clarify the current civilizational conflict as depicted by the novel by studying the artistic and event structure of the novel and analyzing its confeguration of the civilizational conflict and the possible interactions of the self and the other.
