The aim of this study is to compare effective leadership between educational systems in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the UK, as well as to demonstrate leadership practices of school leaders in the UK and compare them with leadership practices of school leaders in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in addition to carrying out a comparison between different practices and how to benefit from them in the Saudi educational system.
4ualitative methods were used in this study, including interviews and observations.
The study population consisted of all SLT members and teachers in (4) outstanding schools in London.
A sample of (25) participants ((4) head teachers, (6) deputy head teachers, (4) heads of subjects and (11) teachers) was selected as a purposive sample for this study, aiming to get detailed data.
To ensure validity, interview Tuestions were piloted with specialists in the field of education.
Revision was made to the Tuestions following the piloting.
Findings indicate that school leaders in the UK have a clear vision for their schools, as well as the distribution of leadership responsibilities and giving the staff the opportunity to lead, using data for development and improving performance, in addition to paying attention to assessment processes and emphasi]ing the use of strategies of effective teaching, as well as putting a higher emphasis on the professional development of teachers.
In light of the results, recommendations were made to benefit from these leadership practices in the Saudi education conte[t.
