Abstract EN
Steven Johnson syndrome (SJS) and toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) are acute life threatening mucocutaneous drug reactions.
Several therapies have been used in the treatment of SJS/TEN but none of them have been established as the gold standard treatment, until now.
Studies showed that cyclosporine (CsA) can be used off-label in TEN/SJS and has shown promising therapeutic effectiveness in such diseases.
Here we report a 38 year-old woman who presented to Ar Rustaq Hospital, Rustaq, Oman in 2019 with SJS/TEN overlap and was treated successfully with CsA along with supportive management.
This case report also includes a literature review on use of CsA in the treatment of SJS/TEN.
