Abstract EN

Dropping out of school is a phenomenon as old as the existence of education.

it is the child's refusal to engage in education and not to attend school, as it is termed as school dropout.

the spread of this phenomenon in our society has raised the concern of many specialists in the field, intellectuals, as well as politicians, and accordingly governments began to pay attention to it.

and researching it in order to find ways to limit and reduce it, as it negatively affects society on the one hand, and the fact that this group who has dropped out of school plays a major role in the process of economic and social development on the other hand.

accordingly, we aim through this research paper to highlight and diagnose the reality of school dropout in Algerian society and to identify the most important causes and factors leading to the spread of this phenomenon in the field by selecting a sample of children who drop out of school and collecting all data for analysis by applying the quantitative and qualitative approach.

it was concluded that family problems and the miserable economic situation in our society negatively affects the child's academic achievement and consequently his dropping out of school, which would expose him to all kinds of deviation after his involvement in the field of work, as well as his contact with the street, which is considered a den for all forms of vice and crime.
