Abstract EN

This study has dealt with a historical overview of the role of fatwa in Algeria during the modern and contemporary period, as it was and still is a safety fortress for the Algerian society from the destructive and extraneous currents and ideas.

We chose a model for a national and reformist figure who contributed in preserving the religious authority in Algeria, which is the figure of Ahmed Hamani, where we follow his academic activity and tireless advocacy struggle in defending the components of the Algerian society, whether during the colonial period or after the independence.
