The Algerian criticism studied the Algerian literature through different approaches, in line with the process of transformation imposed by the exchange of this criticism with its counterpart in the Arab Mashrek, or the contact with Western criticism schools.

This made it range from textual and contextual criticism to an attempt to represent post-structural criticism with its various manifestations, whose most important lesson is the cultural criticism lesson.

In this article, we have tried to trace two critical models that sought to approach the cultural reading of Algerian literarure, in a reading closer to criticism of criticism written by Umm Al-Saad Hayat and Lounis Ben Ali
