Abstract EN

The research aims to shed light on the project of the great port of FAO and its impact on the Iraqi economy as well as its geostrategic and security impact، touching on the most important what this project could not achieve if it entered the work and what are the most important challenges facing internally and externally.

the most important of which are : 1.

the environmental impacts and damages caused by construction operations، barriers and concrete mounds cause the destruction of fisheries in Iraqi territorial waters.

2.

it is considered as suffocating the water in the Tigris by Kuwait and thus causes a severe drop in the water levels in umm qasr.

3.

it causes very huge effects on the Iraqi economy، as it cuts off commercial dealings with countries and thus loses a lot of manpower to work، as well as increasing costs on imported and exported goods at the same time، and this is what weighs on Iraq from an economic point of view.
