The idea of human security goes back to the human development report issued in 1994 which focused on the security of the individual along with the security of the state as a primary goal and a new security aspect, a necessary need to achieve human security in itself after threats to his life and stability.

This concept later developed to include new rights that were recognized as part of it's system, which are mainly represented in water security, considering water as an indispensable right to live in dignity and prosperity.

There are some measures that must be adopted that contribute to activating the role of environmental sustainability to enhance the right to water security, In order to face the challenges facing access to safe water in a sustainable manner, to meet the needs of the current génération without compromising the ability of future generations.
