Method was widely associated with experimental science and began gradually to expand so that to include biological, humanities, and artistic fields of research.

epistemological problems, however have arisen regarding the universality of the method as well as the results, and thus triggering fierce debates and discussions.

the latter were accompanied by a counter-revolutionary methodology which called into question the usefulness of the scientific method itself, the very theme which is apparent in the studies of the contemporary epistemologist “Paul Feyerabend” who had totally denied the existence of methodology in knowledge as a whole.

this article examines the problem of methodology in art and thus putting forth these questions: how can the non-methodology of art be proven? how to reconcile the freedom of artistic creation and the need for a methodological commitment? the most important result that one eventually came across is that there is an art-related method, but it, like the scientific one, offers a margin for what we might call “methodological freedom”.
