Abstract EN

This thesis seeks to highlight the important role of hermeneutics in understanding artworks of visual arts, and shows the importance of meaning in executing a work of art and its continuation, the study begins with the history of the dilemma between art and hermeneutics and takes the artistic experience of the artist Waleed Matar as a contemporary form to apply the methodology of hermeneutics; beginning from the intentions of the artist and his symbols to search for new possibilities of another meanings, and indulges an expanding horizon that holds global problems that serve in every time and place because it’s not only an experience that transmit features of the external world but it reflects a willing, a desire and a personal dream.
