Abstract EN

This research paper discusses the history of detention literature in Morocco, which takes it back to the stage of French colonialism, with the experiences of some men of the national movement.

Among them, we mention Almukhtar Soussi, in” The desert prison”, Allal Al fassi in ” Gabon exile”, and Abdelkrim Ghallan in ” Seven Doors” thatwere charctezid bythe dream of independence.

In contrast to what the political detainees produced and created following major political events during the rule of the late King Hassan II following two failed coup attempts in 1971 and 1972 that led to a shift in the political climate, which contributed to the emergence of a new type of writing, authorship, and creativity whose subject is the ferocity of torture and violence, kidnapping, andinterrogation, the length of trials, the judges’ lack of impartiality… The so-called “years of lead” are a metaphor for a dark side of Morocco’s history.

The study concluded that there are common denominators between the intellectual and literary productions of the two models (before and after independence), the first of which is the dream of freedom and the presence of the place element strongly in their works, with a difference in narrative and narrative structure;as the second model opened to creative literary genres such as The genre of the novel and the short story, which enabled it to produce interesting literary works, away from the reporter-documentary style in the first model.
