The goal of this article is to debate the phenomenon of quotation from the written play and, then to uncover the techniques adopted in the artistic transfer and theatrical text.

we take as an example the play “i am not a donkey” written by the Moroccan playwright Abdel Latif Firdous, as it is one of the most successful adaptation experiences in Moroccan theater.

the writer with his talent in theatrical quotation was able to transform the narrative model in novel of "biography of donkey" of the novelist Hassan Aourid into a dramatic form that responds to the nature of theatrical run and aspirations of the audience.
