The Islamic ornamentation touched several important areas in the Islamic world, and religious architecture: especially mosques.

the "mosque of ketchaoua" in Algiers, is the ideal case study of the Algerian-ottoman architecture, which was recently restored.

the research at hand revolves around the indication of the artistic values manifested in the ketchaoua’s ornamentation after the restoration process, as well as the role played by the decoration in its realization.

furthermore, we conclude that the mosque-after restoration-did not preserve the pure ottoman architectural style, but it remained very rich in decorations.
