Abstract EN

This study aimed to identifying the Russian political interference in the Syrian crisis and the determinants of the Russian policy towards the Syrian crisis.

The study relied on the descriptive analytical approach as well as the historical approach to describe the phenomenon in all its aspects, in terms of the Russian intervention in the Syrian crisis, in an accurate scientific manner.

The study also uses the theory of international conflict, since the tools of conflict "such as negotiation, threat, pressure, bargaining, containment, and alliance" were used in the Russian intervention in the Syrian crisis.

The most important results of the study were as follows: The Syrian crisis came to serve Russia to prove itself on the international scene that it is a superpower, and that it is able to perform its role globally, so it stood with the Syrian regime with full force, and became its strategic ally, as it provided it with support on the political level, especially In the UN Security Council, it suspended several international resolutions against the regime.

It also brought together opposition and regime forces in an attempt to find a political solution to the crisis.

Russia sees in the Middle East a strategic place to protect its national security, and a place to realize its imperial dreams more than it sees in its regional surroundings.

Therefore, its vision of supporting the survival of the Syrian regime stems from a geostrategic vision as its influence.
