Abstract EN

This study aims to present the most important modern approaches in the study and analysis of public policies, which is the theory of public choice by its owner, James Buchanan, , which examines how governments make economic decisions, As well as knowing the basic assumptions on which this theory is based.

Fiscal policy is one of the important economic decisions adopted by governments Therefore, this study examines fiscal policy from a public option perspective, Application to the fiscal policy adopted in Algeria, By learning about the increasing pace of general agreement in Algeria during the period(2000-2019).

It was concluded that the fiscal policy adopted in Algeria is consistent with the basic assumptions of the public option theory, Which sees that governments always resort to the adoption of expansionary fiscal policies, even if this contradicts economic theories, To maintain their positions and serve their own interests.
