The pharmaceutical industry is considered one of the most important fields of industry because it is linked to all fields, especially human health and life, and due to the great developments that this sector has witnessed at all levels, this issue has come to the fore in the concerns of all countries as a tool of hegemony and control, so that whoever controls pharmaceutical technology will control the whole world.

Invention has become one of the most important strategies relied upon and adopted by international institutions and developed countries and therefore inventions in the field of medicines are an alternative option, especially since this field is characterized by rapid technological development that has led to the emergence of new terms and the spread of global diseases and pandemics.

Therefore,through this research paper, we will address the legal regulation of the patentability of medicines in the TRIPS agreement, qnd then we will address the implications of thr TRIPS agreement on economic development.
