Abstract EN

Nasr Hamid Abu Zaid aims to apply the historical approach to the Holy Qur’an, as the West applied it to the two covenants, meaning looking at the Qur’an as a historical phenomenon and a cultural product linked to the time in which it occurred, which is the seventh century AD, and also linked to the place in which it was revealed, which is Mecca and Medina.

In addition to his association with certain people, namely Muhammad - may God’s prayers and peace be upon him - and his companions, the goal, then, is to prepare the Qur’an in the sense of dealing with it on the basis of human and cultural localization, and then remove the obstacle to the sanctity of the text.

And if the goal of studying the Qur’anic text according to Nasr Hamid Abu Zayd is to prove its historicity, then this end, which is historical, is only a means to achieve a more dangerous goal, which is the undisciplined interpretation with linguistic and fundamental rules.

One of the most important findings of the researcher was: that historicalism is nothing but a way for Muslims to question the books of their Islamic heritage and then remove them and their correct source is the Holy Qur’an from the position of leadership and sanctity and replace the higher with what is lower.

The researcher recommends: reading modernist thought and confronting it with analysis and veto.
