This research deals with one of the contemporary issues, which is related to river dams and the provisions related to them, and their most prominent applications.

The research came in an introduction, three chapters, and a conclusion.

As for the introduction: it dealt with the research problem, its importance, the study questions, its tools, the research method, and its plan.

As for the conclusion: it contained the most important results, including: that Islam gave rivers a great priority because of their great role in human life, water is the origin of life, and on the banks of rivers civilizations arose, and people settled, for what they find of livelihood, and life for their animals and their livelihood, and that there Jurisprudential rules governing the construction of dams on running rivers, considering what may be done and what may not be done in rivers of all kinds, and in the possession of water, including erecting dams on shared waters, not harming others, saving water, not polluting water, and not infringing on the rights of others.
