Abstract EN

This study aims to identify the extent of the impact of population growth on the educational sector.

The study relied on the descriptive and analytical approaches, which are based on the study of population growth in the city and development in the field of the educational sector in different stages of data and information processors collected from various sources to achieve the objectives of the study.

The study reached a number of One of the most important results is that the growth rate in Najaf during the period ( - ) was higher than the rate of development in the various fields of services, due to the large increase in population numbers resulting from natural increase and immigration from other regions, The study also found that the educational sector suffers from overcrowding in the numbers of students, especially in the basic stages, in addition to a poor distribution, which constituted a great pressure on it, and this was reflected on the level of the educational sector and the services it provides to citizens.

The study recommends reconsidering the previous structural plans of the city, taking into account the reality and the recent organizational developments and population growth that has occurred in the city, and the provision of educational services and public facilities to meet the increasing numbers so that they are commensurate with the requirements.
