Abstract EN

The current research aimed to study the effectiveness of the summarization strategy in developing the reading comprehension skills for students with learning disabilities in the sixth grade in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The research sample consisted of (26) students with learning disabilities in the sixth grade of primary school in Rafha Governorate of the northern border region in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The research sample was divided into two groups, experimental and control, each group included (13) students.

The research tools included a reading recognition test aiming at exclude students with reading recognition disabilities from the research sample, a reading comprehension test, in addition to the teacher's guide, the student's book to follow the summarization strategy, all tools were prepared by the researcher.

The research tools were applied before and after experimentation.

The study resulted in the following results: There is a statistically significant difference at the level )  0.05( between the mean scores of the experimental and control group in the post application of the reading comprehension test in favor of the experimental group.

Besides there is a statistically significant difference at the level )  0.05( between the mean scores of the experimental group in the pre and post application of the reading comprehension test in favor of the post application.

Considering these results, the research reached some recommendations and suggestions
