Nominal compounds in English and Kurdish : a comparative study

This paper is a comparative study of English and Kurdishnominal compounds.

It compares compound nouns of the twolanguages.

Compounding is a useful procedure of wordconstruction which is commonly used to be added to thelexical collection of all languages.

It attempts to come up withcomplete typology which can account for both Kurdish andEnglish compounds.

Then, there are some concerns applicableto the orthography, stress form, meaning and in compoundswill be discussed.

There seems to be connection between theorthography and stress form of English compounds.

Subsequently, some implications and directions in terms ofthe interactive properties of Kurdish and English compoundswill be discussed.
